For four generations, we have shaped the Vermala world with passion – characterised by genuine warmth, responsibility and the joy of being hosts. A particularly emotional chapter began in autumn 2024, when the former Brunellawirt – a place we loved as children and where we created countless memories – became part of our family. We practically grew up there, coming and going, laughing, celebrating and dreaming. Being able to take over this special place one day and continue it as the Vermala Wirt feels like the fulfilment of a childhood dream.

Discover the history of the former Brunellawirt – a mountain hut that has accompanied and shaped generations in St. Gallenkirch. What began as a small snack bar in the 1960s grew into the popular mountain inn Brunellawirt and has been a proud part of our family as the Vermala Wirt since 2024.

The roots of Montafon ski tourism
Winter sports in the Montafon look back on a vibrant and remarkable past. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, adventurers and mountain enthusiasts discovered the snowy slopes of the Silvretta as the backdrop for their first daring turns. With each generation, not only did the infrastructure develop – the passion that defines this place to this day continued to grow.
Many technical innovations that were considered bold world firsts at the time have their origins here and continue to shape the skiing experience to this day. For us, it is a great joy to call a valley home that was shaped by such trailblazers – people who had visions, took risks and played a decisive role in forming winter tourism in the Montafon. We are proud of this history. And even prouder of the ancestors whose pioneering spirit can still be felt today – in the mountains, in the region and here with us at the Vermala Wirt.
